Little girl, close your eyes. A thief lurks in the hot streets. His gleaming onyx eyes maliciously look around, searching for a child who's out on the damned streets.

Please, little girl, take your nap. He might be deceived and won't take you away. That creepy stalker is worse than Santa Claus- he knows when you're awake.

He can surely catch a pretty and gullible creature like you. That thief would casually grab you and take you to his lair. It's just a small green painted house on Marikit street. But below that green facade lies an underground basement.

And that's where you'll end up if he catches you, Epiphany.

He keeps his captives there. It's the place of no return; The basement where no one would ever see you again.

He'll make you feel at home for a while before he gives you a surprise.

He opens a door for you. Smoke leaks out of the dark entrance. A shiver ran down my spine when I felt the cold smoke stroke my cheek. He won't ask you to step inside- he'll push you there and laugh like a lunatic. The thief would lock that door and greedily smack his lips.

He has himself another meal to devour!

But before he feasts on the bodies of children and beautiful women, he cuts them open, pulls out their organs and maniacally laugh once more. Plans of selling them would have to wait after he has eaten every frozen body he could gulp.

This is the truth. I do not lie, dear Epiphany.

I've seen this horror when he took and ate your mum. I was too afraid to do anything.

So, my precious Epiphany, please take your nap now. That murderer is already out at the streets this afternoon. And he is searching for a prey.

Please, my Epiphany, sleep already. I don't want you to die that way.
This is a dark fantasy set in a modern-day Philippines.

The story starts with a father talking to his daughter, Epiphany. He wants the girl to take her nap but the child still wants to play. So he decided to tell her the story of Manong. It is a story his own mother told him every time he didn't want to take nap time. It was a story that scared the boy enough to sleep.

But this story didn't work the same with Epiphany. She thought it was merely a story to put her to sleep.

One summer day, while playing Langit, Lupa, Impiyerno with her friends, Manong actually came. He took away her best friend.

Maybe I'll update more if I find the time. And don't you worry because this story will be written in English (BrE). Not that I want foreigners to be scared of the Philippines. Please, do not be! We are very hospitable- as hospitable as Japanese (or more or less or equal). We love feeding our guests even if we barely have anything to eat. We are talkative but know how to shut up. We are around the world because 7, 001 islands aren't enough and because we need to work to live. It's a corrupt and poor country but we are resilient. We always know that "Habang may buhay, may pag-asa." (As long as there's life, there's hope.)
